Overview
ScanIt ("we", "the app") is a QR code scanner and generator for iOS. Your privacy is fundamental to how we build this app. All QR code scanning and generation happens entirely on your device. No images or scan data are ever uploaded to our servers.
What We Don't Collect
- Camera images or video frames
- QR code content you scan
- Your scan history
- Generated QR codes
- Your location
- Your contacts
- Device identifiers (IDFA/GAID)
- Your name or email address
What We Collect
Anonymous Analytics
We use a self-hosted analytics service to understand how the app is used. This collects:
- Anonymous usage events (e.g., "scan completed", "QR generated")
- Device type and OS version (e.g., "iPhone, iOS 17.2")
- App version
- A randomly generated device identifier (not linked to your Apple ID)
This data is anonymous and cannot identify you personally. It is stored on our self-hosted infrastructure.
Purchase Information
If you subscribe to ScanIt Pro, your purchase is processed by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID (not your Apple ID) to track your subscription state. We never see your payment details.
Crash Reports
We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports. These include device type, OS version, and stack traces. They do not include any personal information or scan data.
Camera Permission
ScanIt requires camera access to scan QR codes. Camera frames are processed on-device in real-time and are never stored, recorded, or transmitted.
Data Storage
Your scan history and generated QR codes are stored locally on your device only. They are never synced to any server. Deleting the app removes all local data permanently.

Children's Privacy
ScanIt is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your Rights
Since we don't collect personal data, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete. Your scan history is stored locally on your device and can be deleted by removing the app.

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
